Restorative yoga classes are designed to help relieve the effects of chronic stress. The restorative yoga is based on postures described in the yoga book Relax & Renew by Judith Lasater, Ph.D. All of the postures are done with props (bolsters, straps, blankets, blocks & sandbags). Through the use of props, the student is able to totally relax in a completely supportive environment. The teacher helps the students get set up on the props; then the students settle in and relax. Each pose is held for up to 15 minutes. During these periods of deep relaxation, the student is healed and nurtured from within, and energy is increased and balanced.
Restorative yoga classes are offered frequently during the holiday season.
